Meet Samantha Kilburn, your founder.

Hello!

Samantha Kilburn is an elementary education student. She is in her first year of studies and is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Samantha serves on 2 committees, one with an emphasis on DEI in children's literature, and is a lead for 3 clubs, including her college's elementary and early childhood education club. Starting this year, Samantha will also be assisting in psychology research.

Samantha's lifelong passion for representation blossomed from her own journey with multiple physical health conditions. As a child she never saw books with kids that had the same medical conditions as she did, and she knew that she wanted to create a fundamental change and ensure that more children got to see themselves through the media, literature, and music.

With a passion for poetry and the arts, Samantha regularly combines her love for creative writing with children's books. She even plans to write her own children's books with medical representation.

But that's not all! Samantha is also a student reporter who covers a variety of subjects. She enjoys journalism and hopes to pursue this further in the future.

Samantha has large plans for the future of EduAndYou and her own career. She hopes to become a play therapist or pursue a PhD in Developmental Psychology following her elementary education B.A. As for the future of EduAndYou, sign up for our newsletter so you can get the latest updates directly to your inbox.
